Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science
	Mission
	The purpose of the Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education is to provide academic knowledge and skill for employment in child care or pre-kindergarten programs and related family service fields. The degree will meet educational criteria for employment in publicly funded programs and prepare the student for possible transfer to other colleges and universities to meet higher educational and professional goals.

	Student Learning Outcomes
	Students who complete the Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education are expected to demonstrate that they: Have met the general education student learning outcomes. Know the subject matter appropriate to Early Childhood Education. demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. The Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science degree provides the information, knowledge and skill training for persons caring for young children in a variety of child care facilities.
		Salary: $18,400–$40,200 / year (middle range - Nevada)
		Career Outlook: Faster than average growth through 2014

	Mission
	The Early Childhood Education Certificate of Achievement will provide the academic knowledge and skills for employment in a variety of child care settings.

	Student Learning Outcomes
	Upon completion of the Early Childhood Education certificate program, the student will be able to: recognize and organize a physical environment that supports age appropriate development in young children. plan and implement activities that meet the psychosocial, physical and cognitive needs of children in a child care setting. develop strategies for maintaining a safe and healthy child care environment.
